I’m proud to say that, since my June retreat, I’ve maintained my daily meditation practice with more consistency than I’ve ever had.
Also, a particularly fun practice has been leaving the office at about the same time every afternoon – and staying away from work in my off-hours, including weekends.
It’s been glorious.
I’m telling you this because work has been my drug of choice for years.
So while it might not sound like such a big deal, setting unfinished business aside and leaving it alone for days feels like a huge victory over here!
And this week.?
I’m heading off on vacation in just a couple of days.
After a weekend of senior wiffle ball, the fam and I will be hanging on the beach in Belmar, New Jersey. Scoping for dolphins, body-surfing, reading, going for walks, making sure the sand and waves are well-attended.
I won’t even be taking my laptop with me this time.
In the Olympic spirit, all of this feels like gold-medal level chillaxation!
Serious, grounded exhalation time.
So I gotta ask, when did you last let yourself have a good, long, unplugged rest?
Word on the street says it’s the very best stuff!
You can do it.
